Through music, revelations

Posted on Mon Apr 3rd, 2017 @ 5:25pm by Lieutenant Marduk & Trinity Costa

Mission: STATION BLUES
Location: club Bliss
Timeline: current

ON:

Dressing in her quarters, it being early evening, Trinity checked herself in the full length mirror as she went. Black form fitting pants tucked into black jump boots. Her torso bore a bikini style sports bra over which was an ivory poet shirt, the V-neck cut low to her navel with the wooden toggles undone. It showed off her midrif with glimpses as she would move, and covered in the Saints of Bliss cut (black leather vest) which was left unzipped to provide the same. Black holsters and belt for her sidearms being worn in the cross-draw style. Both had been thoroughly cleaned and maintained, charged to capacity. Hair done up in a long braid down her back Trinity was satisfied with her appearance.

Over the past few days Trinity had given a lot of thought to her confrontation with Surla, and after a considerable amount of mental deliberation she came to the conclusion that Surla had been right. The Cabal was what it was, using its vast wealth, people and equipment to maintain Federation security even while committing crimes. Despite the somewhat altruistic meaning behind the organization it was, without a doubt, criminal in its intentions. It had to be in order to gain the trust of those who lived, worked and played in the underworld and black markets. Again, it was what it was.

Taking lifts and corridors, arriving on the promenade in her 'Hood, Trinity stepped to the rail that looked over the edge to the levels below and above. Her eyes glancing around as she stood there, Trinity reaching into the inside pocket of her cut pulled out a metallic tube, popping it open and removing the cigar from it before tucking the tube away again. The ruby and titanium pinky ring she was wearing glinting in the lights as she brought out her cigar clip and cut the end, making sure the piece of wrapped tobacco went into the refuse. Licking the end to moisten it Trinity pulled out her Zippo lighter and ignited. Several heavy puffs, blowing the smoke up and away from the walkway, Trinity slid the lighter into her pocket and then just stood and enjoyed the moment, puffing here and there as she continued observing her surroundings.

The 'Hood was secure, hers, with protection being paid for on a weekly basis. Owners ran their businesses and took care of their own , paying tribute to Trinity, who was the boss over everybody in the neighborhood. Hundreds of people depended on Trinity and she got a piece of everything they made. It was tribute, just like the old days, except they were doing it in the Federation. All they got from Trinity was protection from other people looking to rip them off. That's what it's all about. That's what the Federation and Starfleet can never understand -- that what Trinity and the organization does is offer protection for people who can't go to the authorities. They're like the Security department for wiseguys. Beyond their own merchant services, that was it.

"A strip of latinum for your thoughts?" Marduk asking as he slid in next to Trin, motioning to her to pass the cigar over.

Trinity was grinning, handing the cigar over. "Cuban. I get a shipment from Earth every now and then. As for thoughts, just lost in a moment of reflection."

Marduk was puffing the cigar, dressed in his own civvies and sporting the backwards ballcap. "Nice flavor. Hermetically sealed?"

"You expect anything less," Trinity looking over, head tilting in attitude.

"Nope, just making conversation." Marduk made to hand the smoke back, Trin waving it off. Shrugging Marduk tossed the leftover in the refuse bin. He had no worries about it being lit as the replicator system would disintegrate the cigar, break it down into energy particles in the replication tanks. No harm, no foul.

While that was going on Trinity brought out a breath spray, giving two shots to her mouth and then putting it away. "Zyna wants to sing for the crowd so I need to get going. You're welcome to come along. It's house music right now, the juke, until I get there."

Marduk gave a smile of his own. "Sounds fun. Maybe I'll sing something too."

The two of them continued to make small talk as they walked their way over to Bliss.

Entering the club Trinity could see that the establishment was little over half full. A casual crowd having after-shifters, or just drinking and talking with friends. It was never lost on Trinity when she entered her domain, the eyes that would glance her way, conversations becoming a bit more guarded and quiet so as not to disturb her. It was respect, hands down. Everyone in here, the regulars, knew she was involved in darker projects but no one ever said a word, understanding that they had put themselves in this place of business. Zyna being behind the bar and seeing her boss enter came around and gave Trin a respectful and warm hug.

"You look good, Boss," says the Bajoran woman, smiling, standing back and looking Trinity up and down. She was in a purple halter top and a pair of black form fitting pants, her boots not unlike Trinity's.

Trinity, returning the hug, let the young woman tsop a moment and check her out, not missing the fact that Marduk was heading to the DJ booth attached to the stage. Making her way around Zyna, Trinity activated the sound dampeners so as not to disturb the promenade with the loud music. It was obvious that they needed another party to distract their targets and give them a relaxed attitude; keep them off-guard. "Zyna, come here," Trinity says, while adjusting the audio. When the Bajoran came over Trinity kept her voice low as she handed a PADD over with the image of a human male on it. "Remember him?"

"I do," Zyna responds. "He's the guy with the Andorian buddy."

Trinity gave the woman a wink and grin. "Good memory. I need you to get him alone. The moment that has been accomplished you call me and we mob the bastard. I need answers to some questions."

Zyna, nodding acknowledgement. "Consider it done. Any rush?"

"Nope," responds Trinity, still adjusting the sound board behind the bar. "Make it casual and easy, get him relaxed. You rush this he may get anxious and split."

Marduk, finsihed adjusting for the song he wanted to perform, got a mic and went and stood at stage edge. "Evening, folks. Been meaning to spit a tune for a while now, so this is an ode to Trinity. We all know who she is."

"Oh shit," says Trinity under her breath, grinning inwardly. Being Klingon she knew that Marduk wouldn't pull his punches, that he would announce who she was through music, as if these people needed the warning.

Zyna went and stood at the DJ board, her own song loaded in and waiting. When Marduk gave the nod she started the music for him.

"Purple Lamborghini"
(with Rick Ross)

{OA: Skrillex}

Biggest boss and I been the trillest
I'm a bigger problem when I click with Skrillex
Murder on my mind, it's time to pray to God
My revolver is that religion's the revolution's bond
You wanna know my name then go and tell them Sarge
You wanna know my gang, Suicide Squad
Pistol on my waist, I might make a mistake
Dead shot, head shot, oh my God, am I crazy?
Drugs every corner, this is Gotham City
Killer Croc came to kidnap you, to cut out your kidney
Ain't no mercy, got that purple Lamborghini lurkin'
Rozay, don't you know that pussy worth it
Flooded Rolex at the Grammy awards
They still sellin' dope, that's those Orion boys
Killers everywhere, it ain't no place to run
Forgive me for my wrongs, I have just begun

Ain't, ain't no mercy, a-ain't, ain't no mercy
Got that purple Lamborghini, purple Lamborghini lurkin'
Ain't, ain't no mercy, a-ain't, ain't no mercy
Got that purple Lamborghini lurkin', Rozay

Don't be beggin' for your life 'cause that's a lost cause
High stakes, body armor, suicide boy
There's a time for games and there's a time to kill
Make up your mind, baby, 'cause the time is here
Capital murder, capital letters
Yeah she catchin' my vibe but she can't fathom my cheddar
Need a couple gang members for these new endeavors
From this point on anything we do, we do together
Body on the corner, million in the trunk
Seven figures, I will spend that every other month
Killers on the corner, talons in the clip
Villa Palisade and Paris just to fill with bitches
Say my name and I'm coming with the gun squad
Everybody runnin', homie, there's only one God
Cocaine, white Ferrari, I'm in the fast lane
Every day was life and death, that's when the cash came
Count money, drug residue even blood on 'em
He had a driver 'til I put my cause on it
Kickin' in the dope boy, Suicide Squad
Needle in my arm so I'm do or die for it

Ain't, ain't no mercy, a-ain't, ain't no mercy
Got that purple Lamborghini, purple Lamborghini lurkin'
Ain't, ain't no mercy, a-ain't, ain't no mercy
Got that purple Lamborghini lurkin', Rozay

My name is Skrillex

Marduk finished up, but while he had been singing and rhyming a crowd had moved to the dance floor. The party had begun. Trinity liked that Marduk chose Skrillex to make a mark toward her, spitting the lyrics as accurately as Rick Ross. She gave a nod to him when he was looking her way, showing that she approved.

Zyna, her own body bouncing and dancing while the Skrillex tune played, came over and taking the mic from Marduk put herself at center stage, front. Waving her fingers to shoo Marduk over to the board to adjust as she sang. "Boss-lady, this one is for you, toots." Smiling a moment Zyna then cleared her throat and nodding to Marduk, began her piece.

"Gangsta"

{OA: Kehlani}

I need a gangsta
To love me better
Than all the others do
To always forgive me
Ride or die with me
That's just what gangsters do

I'm fucked up, I'm black and blue
I'm built for all the abuse
I got secrets that nobody, nobody, nobody knows
I'm good on that pussy shit
I don't want what I can get
I want someone with secrets that nobody, nobody, nobody knows

I need a gangsta
To love me better
Than all the others do
To always forgive me
Ride or die with me
That's just what gangsters do

My freakness is on the loose
And running all over you
Please, take me to places that nobody, nobody knows
You got me hooked up on the feeling
You got me hanging from the ceiling
Got me up so high I'm barely breathing
So don't let me, don't let me, don't let me, don't let me go

I need a gangsta (gangsta gangsta)
To love me better (love me, love me better better, baby)
Than all the others do (they do, they do, they do, oh, oh, oh)
To always forgive me (always forgive me)
Ride or die with me (ride or die with me)
That's just what gangsters do (do, oh)

Again, Trinity was impressed by another song done by a friend and member of her crew. It was not, at all, the song she expected to hear from Zyna, but was smiling widely at the Bajoran when she came back over. Winking, Trinity gave her a hug while giggling. "Good choice. Now I know where you stand."

Zyna returning the hug, gave a giggle. "Like you I tell stories through music, trying to emulate ya. Not my problem if people are too ignorant to read between the lyrics to see the truth." Going around Trinity, Zyna spun her boss around and gave her a mild push towards the steps that mounted the bar and attached to the stage. "Your turn. Tell us how you feel, or what's coming, or..whatever."

Trinity was still grinning as she picked up the mic behind the bar, going over and ascending the steps as more people were coming in, pointing to the song she wanted on the PADD Zyna was holding. They could not hear the tunes out on the promenade but whenever there was a party starting up the audio system would cause vibrations through walls and floor with the bass. People would feel that and know what was going on, and soon enough the club would fill to capacity. Zyna sent the choice to Marduk who set it up. Playing to the crowd, with an abundance of attitude in her dancing and motioning to the crowd, Trinity got into the music.

"I'm Gonna Show You Crazy"

{OA: Bebe Rexha}

There's a war inside my head
Sometimes I wish that I was dead, I'm broken
So I call this therapist
And she said, "Girl, you can't be fixed just take this."

I'm tired of trying to be normal
I'm always over-thinking
I'm driving myself crazy
So what if I'm fucking crazy?

And I don't need your quick fix
I don't want your prescriptions
Just 'cause you say I'm crazy
So what if I'm fucking crazy?
Yeah, I'm gonna show you

Loco, maniac, sick bitch, psychopath,
Yeah, I'm gonna show you
I'm gonna show you,
Yeah, I'm gonna show you
Mental out my brain, bat shit, go insane,
Yeah, I'm gonna show you
I'm gonna show you
Yeah, I'm gonna show you

I've been searching city streets
Trying to find the missing piece like you said
And I searched hard only to find,
There's not a single thing that's wrong with my mind

Yeah, I'm tired of tryna be normal
I'm always over-thinking
Driving myself crazy
So what if I'm fucking crazy?

And I don't need your quick fix
I don't want your prescriptions
Just 'cause you say I'm crazy
So what if I'm fucking crazy?

I'm gonna show you

Loco, maniac, sick bitch, psychopath,
Yeah, I'm gonna show you
I'm gonna show you,
Yeah, I'm gonna show you
Mental out my brain, bat shit, go insane,
Yeah, I'm gonna show you
I'm gonna show you
I'm gonna show you

Crazy, crazy, yeah I'm gonna show you...
Crazy, crazy, yeah I'm gonna show you...
Crazy, crazy...
Yeah!

Tired of tryna be normal
I'm driving myself crazy

And I don't need your quick fix
I don't want your prescriptions
Just 'cause you say I'm crazy
So what if I'm fucking crazy?!

Yeah, I'm gonna show you

Loco, maniac, sick bitch, psychopath,
Yeah, I'm gonna show you
I'm gonna show you,
Yeah, I'm gonna show you
Mental out my brain, bat shit, go insane,
Yeah, I'm gonna show you
I'm gonna show you
Yeah, I'm gonna show you

As per the usual the cheers and applause came forth, Trinity bowing to every corner of the room, giving a snarky grin. "I told that story to tell you this one." Going over to Zyna she chose another, which was sent to Marduk to set up. When he got things ready he gave the signal and the music started, Trinity performing.

"Heathens"

{OA: Twenty One Pilots}

All my friends are heathens. Take it slow
Wait for them to ask you who you know
Please don't make any sudden moves
You don't know the half of the abuse

All my friends are heathens. Take it slow
Wait for them to ask you who you know
Please don't make any sudden moves
You don't know the half of the abuse

Welcome to the room of people
Who have rooms of people that they loved one day
Docked away
Just because we check the guns at the door
Doesn't mean our brains will change from hand grenades

You'll never know the psychopath sitting next to you
You'll never know the murderer sitting next to you
You'll think, "How'd I get here, sitting next to you?"
But after all I've said
Please don't forget

All my friends are heathens. Take it slow
Wait for them to ask you who you know
Please don't make any sudden moves
You don't know the half of the abuse

We don't deal with outsiders very well
They say newcomers have a certain smell
You have trust issues, not to mention
They say they can smell your intentions

You'll never know the freakshow sitting next to you
You'll have some weird people sitting next to you
You'll think, "How'd I get here, sitting next to you?"
But after all I've said
Please don't forget
(Watch it, watch it)

All my friends are heathens. Take it slow
Wait for them to ask you who you know
Please don't make any sudden moves
You don't know the half of the abuse

All my friends are heathens. Take it slow
(Watch it)
Wait for them to ask you who you know
(Watch it)
Please, all my friends are heathens. Take it slow
(Watch it)
Wait for them to ask you who you know

Why'd you come? You knew you should have stayed
(It's blasphemy)
I tried to warn you just to stay away
(Away)
And now they're outside ready to bust
(To bust)
It looks like you might be one of us

***

Trinity was laughing and smiling now, exchanging her hand mic for a blutooth so she could really move while singing. No one was dumb enough to keep their drink glasses on the bar top with her gesticulating and moving to the music, her dance moves changing up randomly. What really made her smile while dancing was when Zyna ascended and got in next to her, their dancing and motions in step and complimenting each other. Removing her cut, equipment belt and poet shirt just before the music started, there were now two sweaty women putting their all into the performance, looking sexy as the lights were reflecting off of their damp skin.

"Take Ü There (Missy Elliott Remix)"
(feat. Kiesza & Missy Elliott)

{OA: Jack U}

[Verse 1 - Kiesza:]
You show me there's something more to us
Than the same old thing, no usual affair
I will never dream of your love till you take me there
Till you take me there, ooh babe

[Chorus - Kiesza:]
You've got more love to give, baby
Ooh babe, ooh babe
You've got more love to give, baby
Ooh babe, ooh babe
You've got more love to give, baby
Ooh babe, ooh babe
You've got more love to give, love to give
Love to, love to, love to, love to, love, love, love, love

Taking a PADD from Hans, Jynxza texting Marduk to get him set up for her next song choice. Zyna hopped down and began to fill drink orders while Jynx made her way to the stage, letting the bar make money. She moved the mic stand to the side of the stage and Marduk started the music.

"Dark Horse"
(feat. Juicy J)

{OA: Katy Perry}

Oh, no.

[Juicy J:] {Marduk}
Yeah
Ya'll know what it is
Katy Perry
Juicy J, aha.
Let's rage

[Katy Perry:]
I knew you were
You were gonna come to me
And here you are
But you better choose carefully
‘Cause I, I’m capable of anything
Of anything and everything

Make me your Aphrodite
Make me your one and only
But don’t make me your enemy, your enemy, your enemy

So you wanna play with magic
Boy, you should know what you're falling for
Baby do you dare to do this?
Cause I’m coming at you like a dark horse
Are you ready for, ready for
A perfect storm, perfect storm
Cause once you’re mine, once you’re mine
There’s no going back

Mark my words
This love will make you levitate
Like a bird
Like a bird without a cage
But down to earth
If you choose to walk away, don’t walk away

It’s in the palm of your hand now baby
It’s a yes or no, no maybe
So just be sure before you give it all to me
All to me, give it all to me

So you wanna play with magic
Boy, you should know what you're falling for
Baby do you dare to do this?
Cause I’m coming at you like a dark horse
Are you ready for, ready for
A perfect storm, perfect storm
Cause once you’re mine, once you’re mine (love trippin')
There’s no going back

[Juicy J - Rap Verse:] {Marduk}
Uh
She’s a beast
I call her Karma (come back)
She eats your heart out
Like Jeffrey Dahmer (woo)
Be careful
Try not to lead her on
Shorty’s heart is on steroids
Cause her love is so strong
You may fall in love
When you meet her
If you get the chance you better keep her
She's sweet as pie but if you break her heart
She'll turn cold as a freezer
That fairy tale ending with a knight in shining armor
She can be my Sleeping Beauty
I’m gon’ put her in a coma
Woo!
Damn I think I love her
Shorty so bad, I’m sprung and I don’t care
She ride me like a roller coaster
Turned the bedroom into a fair (a fair!)
Her love is like a drug
I was tryna hit it and quit it
But lil' mama so dope
I messed around and got addicted

[Katy Perry:]
So you wanna play with magic
Boy, you should know what you're falling for (you should know)
Baby do you dare to do this?
Cause I’m coming at you like a dark horse (like a dark horse)
Are you ready for, ready for (ready for)
A perfect storm, perfect storm (a perfect storm)
Cause once you’re mine, once you’re mine (mine)
There’s no going back

The woops and cheering made them both feel good, Trinity bowing and waving slightly to the room. "Glad y'all are havin' a good time. Lemme give ya one more." Showing Marduk which song she wanted, and setting up, it began.

"Wreak Havoc"

{OA: Skylar Grey}

They call me a menace
They say that I'm cursed
But somethin' about me is makin' 'em jealous
So listen and learn
I herd 'em like cattle
Cause I'm surrounded by cowards
And I don't give a fuck when I walk into battle
And that's why I got all the power
I'm where you wanna be
Ain't no one ahead of me
All of my enemies made a decision
It's better to follow me
I make no apologies
All of my sins I would repeat and I repeat
Cause I'ma be me 'til the death of me, oh yeah

I can smell your fear
The only reason that I'm here
Is to wreak havoc
Everybody prayin' that I'll change, yeah
Maybe one day but tomorrow I'll be back at it
Cause bad habits they die hard
We live fast we die hard
Go against me you'll die hard
Die hard

I dine with the blood on my hands
Thrive when I'm beatin' the man
All I learned in the pen
Is never get caught
Just get out and hit it again
Straight outta context
Ain't see me come like it's phone sex
Ain't hear me tick like a Rolex
Cause I'm keepin' a nuclear conscience
I fly like an atom bomb
In a world riddled with conflict
Hate that you need me
Wanna destroy me but you can't
You're gonna deploy me in the end
Better believe that I'ma be me 'til the death of me, oh yeah

I can smell your fear
The only reason that I'm here
Is to wreak havoc
Everybody prayin' that I'll change, yeah
Maybe one day but tomorrow I'll be back at it
Cause bad habits they die hard
We live fast we die hard
Go against me you'll die hard
Die hard

And if love is real
Maybe I'm just too bad
To remember how good it feels
My heart is still

I can smell your fear
The only reason that I'm here
Is to wreak havoc
Everybody prayin' that I'll change, yeah
Maybe one day but tomorrow I'll be back at it
Cause bad habits they die hard
We live fast we die hard
Go against me you'll die hard
Die hard

Once it ended, with the cheering and whistling, Trinity gave a sweeping bow from the waist. "Thank you, thank you. Now back to the juke, unless Marduk feels like setting up some DJ tunes?" Looking over her shoulder, smiling at the half Klingon.

Marduk, hands moving on the board. "Almost set with some good dance tunes. Blast that juke!" He laughed, setting the tunes to play and then coming out of the DJ booth.

The music now on auto, Trinity hopped down to the dance floor, people making an aisle for her to walk through without being jostled. Returning to the back of the bar she donned her gear and clothing, getting herself back to how she looked when she had come in. Zyna, moving around behind her boss while serving drinks, spoke low from behind Trin. "They're here."

Trinity upon hearing this kept her face neutral and angled downward like she was checking data, her eyes coming up and glancing toward the main entrance. There was the Andorian and his companion, both looking as smug as always. "You know what to do. I'll get another server to cover back here."

Without another word Zyna went into the back, Trinity finishing the few drinks the gal had been working on and handing them out. Another server girl stepped in so Trinity washed her hands and gathered herself a bottle of Pendleton whiskey, a bucket of ice and a tumbler. Taking her items to her private alcove and sitting down, Trinity poured herself a whiskey on the rocks while dousing the lighting in her niche. With the lights moving around with the music in the darkened club atmosphere it made it almost impossible to make her out clearly unless in the alcove. For her part Trinity was leaning back, feet up in another chair as her eyes continuously watched the crowd. Ambient illumination allowed her enough light to see what she was doing, barely. The internal sound dampener within the private niche was activated, leaving the music to be heard, but very low-key. Now, she was sitting and watching, waiting for something to catch her eye and galvanize her into action.
