The Job

Posted on Tue Aug 22nd, 2017 @ 1:42am by Korvark PNPC & Frank O'Connell & John Christie & Trinity Costa

Mission: STATION BLUES
Location: Club Bliss
Timeline: current/somewhere in-between

Korvark looked at everyone but said nothing while drinks were served waiting until the server had left earshot. Leaning forward he explained what he wanted, "Now that the introductions are done the job is simple", grinning with little warmth in his smile, "I need a ship and its crew..", looking at John, "..to go planetside. I have a map with a likely target site of where we can get the ore I want from a mine. We'll need approximately a tonne of the stuff and get it aboard the ship and bring it back here for processing", looking at Frank. Korvark then took a healthy gulp of the bloodwine from his tankard and mentioned casually, "There's no paper work with this job".

"Aye, that's something we can be doing fer ye." John tapped the now empty bottle on the table, his eyes crossing with Fiona's. "We'll be needin tae take yer money upfront like, nae paperwork also means nae credit." His sister suppressed a smile, for the first time in her life she actually thought John might not need her to do his thinking for him.

"Where would you be sending us exactly?" She asked the Klingon, "And are the locals likely to kick off when we start tae take their stuff out from under them?" It was John's turn to bite his lip, Fiona, always the practical one.

However he couldn't fault her desire to be sure, their last few gigs hadn't exactly gone well. With that thought he glanced over at the bar where the two Iain's were each trying to get another ale while making the other pay, he didn't want to recklessly endanger his crew, family as they were. Also the line would probably want the Lady back at some point, so having her scattered over the wilderness of some dirtball was highly undesirable.

"Aye, Ah could dae wie oot then shootin off at us like" he amplified Fiona's question.

"No!", Korvark said flatly slamming his tankard down on the table but still grasping its handle, "You and I are new to each other so we will have to build some trust", looking into his tankard then looking back at John, " Half now, the rest when you deliver the cargo...and the rest held with an agreed party", glancing at Frank"

Frank nodded. "Always more than happy to play escrow......for a small fee of course." He said with a grin.

The Klingon shifted in his seat as he took a cautious look around the room and bared his teeth, "The mine is abandon and the ore already mined but it's still down there so you'll need to get it up to the surface and loaded. It's location is far from any population at the base of a mountain range where the tree line meets north of a lake so no one to be concerned about. It's location to be revealed once we agree to terms. As for shooting..", he shrugged, ".. the minerals hard to find but its not illegal and there isn't enough here on the station for my needs. Besides I'll be coming along to verify its what I want. If you need to talk to your people", raising a curious eyebrow, "I'll get another drink and come back", getting up and turning to go spy Trinity's return

Trinity, now back around the bar, served a bit with Zyna. Her interest in Frank and his cohorts was gone since she had left their table, and they were being watched from around the room so that no illicit narcotics, devices, or chemicals were sold within her establishment. Hell, no one sold crap like that in her entire 'community', since Trinity was not into the drug trade. Drying her hands after hand drying some glasses, Trinity was about to sit back down when the Saints of Bliss MC cuts parted the crowd, heading for the door.

Tossing the towel on the counter Trinity went to the end and went around, now near to the exit. "Liam! Leaving so soon?"

"'Fraid so, Doll." Liam stepped in and gave her a hug, one of warmth, trust, and love. "You'll be sorely missed, but we'll be back before ya know it." The rest of the MC (Merchant Club) also hugged her, even the Prospects.

Trinity walked to the promenade with them, a pace outside her door, it now being quiet with the sound dampeners in place. "Just be safe. Bring me back something special."

"Like what," asked Liam.

"A case of aged Aldeberan whiskey," giggled Trinity. "Get outta here...go." She slapped his arm, then his arse as she walked back inside Club Bliss.

A quiet message beep sounded from the PADD in Frank's pocket, he pulled the device out and brought up the message. As he read his expression got darker and darker until finally he put the PADD away and stared off into the middle distance deep in thought.

Walking back inside Trinity noticed the furrowed skin just above the Human bridge of the nose; a sure sign of tension. Turning back toward the table with which Frank and his cohorts had absconded for their private conversation, Trinity plopped down in Frank's lap, sitting side-saddle on his lap. "So, you look stressed, Frank. Need a special libation to offset the angst?"

Zyna called out. "Trin, the crowd calls for you, doll!"

Trinity, giving a teasing stroke to Frank's chin, stood with a grin. "A missed opportunity, Frank. You're getting slow, mate." Then, off she went. Zyna informed her that the crowd wanted a song or two, either karaoke style or the whole band. Trin decided to go karaoke so she could sing and gesticulate on the bartop instead of a show with a complete group. Getting her hand mic, Trinity mounted the bar to cheers.

Frank was so distracted planning how to deal with the most recent bit of news he hadn't even noticed the slight weight of Trinity landing in his lap. Her tweaking of his chin brought him back to the here and now. He shook off the thoughts and grinned, barely missing a playful swat to her backside in return as she flitted back to the bar.

"Yeah, that's right," said Trinity into the mic. "Some of you wobbleheads wanted to hear me sing, so here it is. I've been through some shit in my life, and this song says it all. Zyna, start that shit!"

"Made Of Scars"

{OA: Stone Sour}

This one came from looking
This one opened twice
These two seem as smooth as silk, flush against my eyes
This one needed stitches and
This one came from rings
This one isn't even there, but I feel it more because you don't care

Yeah, cut right into me
Yeah, yes I am Made Of Scars
Yes, I am made of scars

This one had it coming
This one found a vein
This one was an accident, but never gave me pain
This one was my fathers and
This one you can't see
This one had me scared to death,
But I guess I should be glad I'm not dead!!

Yeah, cut right into me
Yeah, because I am made of scars
Yes, I am made of scars

God, don't you believe the hype?
God, don't you believe the hype?
God, don't you believe the hype?
God, don't you believe the hype?

And I will find a way
Everything you are I will betray
Oh, I swear that I will find a way
Everything you are's inside me

This one was the first one
This one had a vice
This one here I like to rub on dark and stormy nights
This one was the last one,
I don't remember how
But I remember blood and rain
AND I NEVER SAW IT COMING AGAIN

Yeah, cut right into me
Yeah, yes I am made of scars
Yes, I am made of scars
Yes, I am made of scars
Yes, I am made of scars
That's what I'm made of!!!

As Trinity finished the song Frank rose quietly to his feet and nodded to the others. "Sorry gang, I need to go take care of something." He said. "You know how to reach me if you need to." He strode quickly from the Bliss and headed to the nearest lift.

Trinity laughed into the mic. "I sang that one to sing you this one. Hit it, Zyna."

"Big Bad Wolf"

{OA: In This Moment}

Even in these chains, you can't stop me.
Even in these chains, you can't stop me.
Even in these chains, you can't stop me.
Even in these chains, you can't stop me!

Once upon a time
There was a nasty, little piggy filled with pride and greed
Once upon a time
There was an evil, little piggy typical disease
You see this little pig is slowly becoming my own worst enemy.
You see this evil pig she's a blood, blood, blood sucking part of me

Everywhere I go, you go along with me (she said)
Everything you get, is all because of me (I said)
Everything I do, you do along with me (she said)
No matter where you run, you cannot hide from me

She's got a hold on me
Maybe she is just what they want me to be

Even in these chains, you can't stop me.
Even in these chains, you can't stop me!

Pig, pig!
Would you let me in?
Pig, pig!
Would you let me in?
Pig, pig!
I've been everywhere that you've been
Now I've got nothing to lose and everything to win
Pig, pig!
Would you let me in?
Pig, pig!
Would you let me in?
Pig, pig!
I'm already under your skin
'Cause I'm the big bad wolf, now let the games begin

You see I am the wolf,
And this dirty, little piggy lives inside of me.
You see every now and then,
I forget which one that I want and which one that I need.
I have come to realize
That both of them have become a necessity
I now have come to realize
That I become which animal I choose to feed

Anything I say you lie along with me. (she said)
Every song you sing is all because of me (I said)
Anytime I cry you always laugh at me. (she said)
No matter what you do you will belong to me

She's got a hold on me,
Maybes she's just what they want me to be

Even in these chains, you can't stop me.
Even in these chains, you can't stop me!

Pig, pig!
Would you let me in?
Pig, pig!
Would you let me in?
Pig, pig!
I've been everywhere that you've been
Now I've got nothing to lose and everything to win
Pig, pig!
Would you let me in?
Pig, pig!
Would you let me in?
Pig, pig!
I'm already under your skin
'Cause I'm the big bad wolf, now let the games begin

Oh man, all these voices
I just can't get the fuck out of my head!
I can't, I can't, I can't

Even with these chains, you can't stop me.
Even with these chains, you can't stop me
Even with these chains, you can't stop me
Even in these chains, you won't break me
Even in these chains, you won't stop me
Even in these chains, you won't break me
Even in these chains, you won't take me
Even in these chains, you won't haunt me

Pig! Pig!
Pig, pig!

Stay the fuck, stay the fuck, stay the fuck out of my head!

She's got a hold on me,
Maybe she is just what they want me to be

Even in these chains, you can't stop me.
Even in these chains, you can't stop me!

Pig, pig!
Would you let me in?
Pig, pig!
Would you let me in?
Pig, pig!
I've been everywhere that you've been
Now I've got nothing to lose and everything to win
Pig, pig!
Would you let me in?
Pig, pig!
Would you let me in?
Pig, pig!
I'm already under your skin
'Cause I'm the big bad wolf, now let the games begin
'Cause I'm the big bad wolf, now let the games begin!
'Cause I'm the big bad wolf, now let the games begin!

"I'm the Alpha female," said Trinity, then mic drop as she left the bartop/stage.
----

While Korvark was at the bar, and Trinity was covering the conversation with her singing, John and Fiona compared notes.

"Dae ye think he's on the up and up?" John asked his sister. Fiona flicked her hair back and fixed her errant brother with a glare, "If is isn'ae then we can be taken him when he's no watchin' and surrounded by nutjobs in a soddin' bar run by that leather clad psycho aye?" She jerked her head as Trinity continued to captivate the crowd from the bartop. John waved a dismissive gesture, "I'm no spoilin fer a ficht, I just want tae ken if yer thinkin' he'll stump up the other half if we go along and get his rocks fir him." Fiona took a long pull from her drink while eyeing up the Klingon at the bar. "He'll pay, he needs it mair than he fancies tellin." She carefully put the bottle, empty, onto the table. "Shake on it, and I'll round up the lads." With that she swing off of the stool and began to work through the crowd, who were mostly cheering and hooting to Trinity as the latter made her way from the stage, Fiona remembered just in time not to spit on the floor.

John watched her go. They needed this money, but he didn't want to seem desperate. That said, she was right, and anyone who bought him a drink was fine in his books. There were however details. He dug around in a thigh pocket for his PADD and began a quick list of things, glancing up when Korvark reappeared. As the Klingon dumped down his freshly filled tankard John stood to meet him, holding out a hand, "Fine Lad, We're in, noo, talk aboot details an' the like eh?"

Korvarks grin split his guarded look like the opening of a bear trap putting all his teeth on display, whether that was good or bad only the onlooker could say, "EXCELLENT! John Christie let us begin our adventure together", as Korvark grasp his hand pumping it then proceeded to down his tankard.
